Rec F.Y.I.
The Rec For Your Information section will be used to give quick facts, comments, and suggestions that will enhance your experience while visiting with us.
To start:
- Always bring your JSU ID or REC Card to access the facility. Entry will not be allowed without it.
- For your safety, please read all posted signs. Some areas are restricted for Recreation Service staff for programs and services preparation.

Recreation Fun Facts!
The National Intramural Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA) conducted a study in 2002 revealing the following:
Recreational Sports is correlated with overall college satisfaction and success. Recreational Sports was rated fifth out of 21 factors most significant as a determinant of satisfaction and success for heavy user. Students agreed that participation in recreational sports resulted in the following wide range of benefits (in priority order):
- Improves emotional health
- Reduces stress
- Improves happiness
- Improves self confidence
- Builds character
- Makes students feel like part of college community
- Improves interaction with diverse sets of people
- Is an important part of college social life
- Teaches team building skills
- Is an important part of the learning experience
