Building Supervisor
Position Reports to: Director

Position Purpose: The Building Supervisor ensures customer services in a safe, functional environment to all members of the facility.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES : (Other duties may be assigned)

  • Office of Recreation Services representative in the absence of professional staff
  • Shift supervisor for the All program areas working in conjunction with the Assistant Directors
  • Assist the Assistant Director and/or Director with staff supervision, meetings, training, & evaluations.
  • Be proficient on all Recreation Services policies and procedures
  • Maintaining the safety and security of membership access to the facility by providing conflict resolution
  • Provide customer service by offering risk management during medical or non-medical emergencies.
  • Assisting with general office duties include deposits, membership processing, tours, errands, stocking supplies, completing inventory, and filing.
  • Assist with modifying a guest access by working within the software program
  • Providing customer service by answer questions by phone, mail, walk up, or email.
  • Assisting with checking out rental equipment including towel services, pro shop sales, juice bar refreshments within designated software program
  • Assist with payment processing of memberships, various program registration, and daily deposits.
  • Attend and participate in Recreation Services employee training's, programs, staff meetings.
  • Facilitator of Recreation Programs, Fitness & Wellness, other group reservations of setup/breakdowns with informal recreation.
  • Assisting patrons, university offices/departments areas with facility reservations setups/breakdowns

Building Monitor

Position Reports to: Director

Position Purpose: The Building monitor ensures customer services in a safe, functional informal recreation environment to all members of the facility.

Essential Duties: (Other duties as assigned)

  • Assisting with general office duties include tours, errands, stocking supplies, completing inventory, filing.
  • Assist with setup/breakdown of recreation program equipment.
  • Perform hourly facility usage report
  • Providing customer service by answer questions by phone & walk up, assisting with reservations.
  • Collaborating with Office of Recreation Service program areas for the successful facilitation of program registrations and event management.
  • Assisting patrons, university offices/departments areas with facility reservations setups/breakdowns
  • Provide customer service by offering risk management during medical or non-medical emergencies.
  • Attend and participate in Recreation Services employee training's, programs, staff meetings.

Member Services Assistant (Member Services & Juice Bar)

Position Reports to: Senior Assistant Director Membership/Business Management

Position Purpose: The Member Services Assistant is the front line representative for member inquires of program information, membership processing, and risk management offered by the Office of Recreation Services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Other duties may be assigned.

  • Be proficient on all Recreation Services policies and procedures
  • Maintaining the safety and security of membership access to the facility.
  • Assisting with general office duties include tours, errands, stocking supplies, completing inventory, filing.
  • Assist with modifying a guest access by working within the CSI program
  • Providing customer service by answer questions by phone, mail, walk up, or email.
  • Assisting with checking out rental equipment including towel services, pro shop sales, juice bar refreshments within CSI program
  • Assist with payment processing of memberships, various program registration, and daily deposits.
  • Collaborating with Office of Recreation Service program areas for the successful facilitation of program registrations. This includes Recreation Programs, Fitness & Wellness.
  • Assisting patrons, university offices/departments areas with facility reservations setups/breakdowns

Marketing Assistant

Position Reports to: Director

Position Purpose: With a detailed understanding of marketing recreation sports, business administration and graphic design this position will focus on marketing all of recreation for the Walter Payton Recreation & Wellness Center, developing brand awareness for Recreation Programs, Fitness & Wellness and other specialty programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: (Other duties as assigned)

  • This person will work closely with the Director and Assistant Directors with advertising programs.
  • Producing and publicizing materials to promote RWC
  • Involvement in the marketing effort, learn to make advertising buys and supervise the process from start to finish
  • Create databases for marketing, conduct surveys and other marketing research efforts,
  • Learn to make value decisions as to advertising methods
  • Involvement with elements of graphic design, marketing research, in-game promotions, campus marketing and community marketing.
  • Responsibilities with special events, media developing, program direction, and budgeting.
